This is an accessibility statement from AidKit, Inc.
AidKit is committed to ensuring its products and services are accessible to people with disabilities and is continually improving the user experience for everyone while applying the relevant accessibility standards.
This accessibility statement applies to the applicant-facing user interface, specifically the Application Forms and related Surveys that applicants may have access to. Each program AidKit serves has its own unique website and program instance where applicants can access the main application form.
Measures to Support Accessibility
AidKit, Inc. takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of AidKit:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
- Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
- Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
AidKit is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA with the exception of some of our data visualization offerings, which are partially conformant.
Additional Accessibility Considerations
Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also implemented additional functionality and some Level AAA Success Criteria:
1. Images of text are only used for decorative purposes.
2. Re-authentication after a session expires does not cause loss of data.
3. All pages provide a spoken version of the text using synthetic speech for all supported languages using a button to start text-to-speech conversion that reads the text aloud.
4. All pages indicate the current location within tab panel style navigation bars.
5. Proper semantic section headings are used to organize content.
6. All sections provide a text summary that can be understood by people with lower secondary education level reading ability.

Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of AidKit , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for AidKit:
- Liveness Detection: Recording selfie images and videos and capturing identity documents do not have voice-guided assistance because we are unable to provide text alternatives for a video capture that must be done to facilitate identity verification processes. We are exploring alternative methods to collect the necessary documentation that can ensure web accessibility without compromising the security and validity of the documents and images captured. We offer liveness detection in partnership with programs such as Community-Based Organizations who have a physical location where they can conduct alternative processes to collect identity documentation and verify users without the use of the platform's digital liveness features.
- Data Visualization: The current data visualization features use an external third-party library that does not currently support text alternatives to non-text content. We are currently exploring remediation and alternatives to this.
- Custom Content: Inherent to the AidKit platform is the ability for program administrators to customize content for their programs. With this comes some inherent uncertainty about whether the content program administrators provide is accessible. For instance, a video or image that is linked externally may not be accessible. Given that possibility, full accessibility compliance cannot be 100% guaranteed for every single program AidKit helps administer. AidKit makes its best effort to ensure that both the platform and the content that is provided by program partners is accessible.
